Loved this race...got a PR...perfect day for running...some complained about humidity, but I'm from the southeast...so humidity wasn't bad to me...beautiful run...not too hilly...especially for Hawaii...

FUN! It's HAWAII! Some complained of heat. After I knew I couldn't PR, I took it easy. Nice medal!
While vacationing in Maui I flew over for this one. HOT, HOT, HOT but absolutely gorgeous! Glad I didn't do the full through the lava fields!

I also did this race with Train To End Stroke. The weather was clear and HOT, but it was a beautiful course and it was, after all, frickin' Hawaii. Who can complain? One of the smallest races I ever did, but very friendly and a lot of fun.

The date on this race is wrong - it actually occurred June 11, 2006. The American Stroke Association was wonderful in its race course support. Running through Kailua/Kona was neat, especially since I had been there the day before shopping! The weather was great, had a nice breeze and the sun didn't hit until 2 hours into the race. I'd do it again.

Does it get any better than this.... ran this in 2005 with Train to End Stroke. Rained for 5 miles, but fastest time yet! Great scenery and a very fast course.

Loved it! It sprinkled, then rained a bit harder. Once the rain cleared up, it was a bit humid (I live in AZ, so anywhere else is too humid - haha!). I am definitely going back next year to give it another shot!
