The National Distance Running Hall of Fame Race was established in 1999 by the Utica Roadrunners. They wanted to support the newly formed National Distance Running Hall of Fame. The decision was made that the best way to support the Hall of Fame was to put on a race. Many of the Hall of Fame Inductees were inducted based on either by directing road races or by running in them. The Roadrunners figured this was the perfect way to support and honor those inductees. This way the Utica Roadrunners could support the National Distance Running Hall of Fame and introduce the Hall of Fame to runners who might not have known about it. Registration and Packet Pick up is held right at the Hall of Fame. We have had close to 4,500 runners finish this race in the past 13 years.
