| Good time. Race was nice, downtown wasnt that happening, but cool medal. |
| |
| Not what I was expecting. Very small expo, no baggage check (that I could find), and just a small feeling overall. I don't think it was bad but it just didn't feel like the city's flagship race weekend.
The course was nice, challenging but not too bad. Not one I'd do again. |

| A good smaller race. Didn't really care for Buffalo, very empty on the weekend. The race had nice water and gatorade stops every 2 miles. Weather worked out perfect. Didn't feel a lot of crowd support if they didn't know you. Volunteers were very nice though. Nice run by the water, but a lot of down and back sections. Flat course.

| Fairly flat route with areas of rough road, humidity and bugs this year. Good volunteers and race staff. Nice tshirts and medals. Couldn't find the pizza post race but just wanted to get home. |
| |
| not a bad race. Hot not much happening in the downtown. |
| |
| very warm day |
| |
| Although it was hot (with very little shade), humid and had some significant hills, I liked this race. The volunteers and race organizers did a great job. Nice finisher's medal but the shirt needs some work. Has both chocolate milk and beer at the end of the race. |
| |
| Brutal heat coupled with lack of course marking made for an interesting race. If you are a walker with a 16 minute mile, take a map of the course with you. |
| |
| Ugh, heat and humidity were a killer. Friendly, reasonably supported race. A few minor bridge/hills but relatively flat. Fairly easy race start/finish. Not the most scenic course ever. |
| |
| Nice course but was hot weather and they ran out of powerade for the last few miles - excelent pre and post race activiites - best race bargain around |
| |
| Lots of bang for your $$$! Fun race with great volunteers. Close to Niagara Falls. |
| |
| Enjoyed the event. Could have used a bit more marked direction for back of pack. Saw a group have to turn around due to wrong direction. Good after event fare held indoors. |
| |
| This is not flat...number of bridges over railroad tracks. Many runners were held up over 3 minutes by a train. Medal was very nice. |
| |
| A little bummed that by the 4th block, at the start of the race, our group was being told by the police to get on sidewalk. A 14:00 mile. |
| |
| Fun race, great race destination (loved Niagara Falls). Terrific post-race goodies - indoor seating, and indoor plumbing! |
| |
| Nice course - flat. Was raining most of the run which I love! |
| |
| Nice course. I'm more of a walker than runner now and not as good of race support for us in the back. Pasta dinner the night before was great to eat and meet other runners. |
| |
| Pretty flat course with just a bridge and couple of overpasses. Easy parking downtown and the Expo ran smoothly. The only minor complaint is some pinch points where you are running on walking trails and there is traffic both ways. Good race overall and I would recommend it. |
| |
| Sunny and cool without any wind - perfect weather. Liked the flat course, only one hill up a steel bridge - nice stretch along the Lake; little rough on the road, but nothing like Detroit! Spectators were mainly downtown, but volunteers along the lonlier spots were very friendly. Dealing with plantar fasciitis so kept it slow and steady so my time isn't indicative of any issues with the course/weather. Recommend a trip to Buffalo! I stayed near the airport, but it was a very easy drive in/out. |
| |
| Split start for marathon &1/2ers that merged about 6 blocks later. Very flat, some roads long and boring. Marina area nice. Some areas not spectator-friendly and pothole sections were not runner-friendly. T-shirts mention only the marathon but medals say 1/2 finisher. Agree-Stay at Comfort Suites. |
| |
| The good: If you registered early, you get two shirts, one they send you and one you pick up at the expo; all the beer and pizza you wanted after the race; pasta dinner is included; started on time. The bad: mile markers were way off; the first water station wasn't until 3.4 miles; bad footing in a lot of locations; second part of the 1/2 course is BORING! |
| |
| Nice, well-aided realtively small race (1100 1/2 finishers). Weather was pretty good: cool, but humid. Shirt was not white, navy. BUT, they ran out of large shirts. Friday packet pick up was only until 4:00. Re-opened Sat. morning at 5:30. Course layout was okay. One spot you run back into walkers. Footing, in places, was a bit questionable. Potholes and one steel bridge. If you go, stay at the Comfort Suites or Hyatt. CS is 1 block from start, 3 from finish, Hyatt is other way around. Nice medals too! |
| |
| Excellent way to see Buffalo! |
| |
| Not enough bathrooms |
| |
| I ran this race in May 2006. The weather was unseasonably warm this year, and I was very grateful for the many citizens of Buffalo that were standing in their front yards handing out ice and offering spray from their garden hoses. The course was pretty, the organization well done, and the race enjoyable.
The wings at the Anchor Bar are pretty good, too. :-) |
| |
| Very nice weather conditions. Very flat course for the most part. Started out in Delaware Park, looped around scenic neighborhoods, halfway back to Delaware Park, then into downtown Buffalo. Local resident running with me pointed out different Buffalo attractions, such as Forest Lawn Cemetery where some famous buried. Chip finish, but not at start. Felt great. |
| |
| I ran this race in 2004 and it was great! Great course, running through lots of Buffalo neighborhoods, very flat and fast! |
