2009
Karen Myers I was sick this year but still didn't want to miss it! It is such a beautiful course with such a great expo!
Time:01:37

Christina Lagoda Great views all around. Fun post race and beautiful day.
Time:03:01

Alice McGinley This was my third time running this race, and because it was my first half back in the day, it has a warm and fuzzy place in my heart! Beautiful course, great crowd support, lots of amenities after the race, and a loud, orange technical shirt to boot. Can't wait until it becomes a full RNR race next year. I highly recommend this race.
Time:02:29

Anna Shih My first half! This race was very well-organized. I loved the scenic (and shaded) course, especially along the Schuykill River. You get both urban scenery downtown and nature scenery in the park. Great volunteers and perfect weather!
Time:02:19

Dennis Howard Great course and excellant weather
Time:02:02

Gary Shipp Great race, I ran a personal best. The course was flat and the race was very well organized, nice tech shirt and medal
Time:02:10

Becky Shehorn This is my second year in a row doing this race and it was just as great as the first. I love philly and I really enjoyed the course. I highly recommend this race to anyone who doesnt have PA yet. I hear that it was bought by RNR and will now be a rock and roll race. I love the fact we could see the elites coming back as we were going out.
Time:02:17

Frank Chahulski There was a little chaos in the first corral before the race started but one the first quarter mile was done it all spread out. The course is flat and fast and much of it is in the shade.
Time:01:29

Joan Hanna Darrell I would definitely recommend this race organization and the race course itself is really fun. Philly course starts 3 miles downtown then goes up the Schuylkill river til about mile 8.7 then crosses the river for a nice slightly downhill finish. The route encompassed many of the monuments and historic sites of Philly. Beautiful weather, expo and tech tee. We also got to see the leaders as they came back from their 3 mile loop (we were going out)and American Olympian Ryan Hall beat out two Kenyans.
Time:02:05

Sharon Miner Flat. Well organized for such a large race. Although a rock and roll event, less bands than others I've done.
Time:02:27

2008
Bethany Sanchez Terrific course. Scenic and lots of fans along the way!
Time:02:22

Candy O'Toole Really enjoyed this race. Flat course, great crowd support. Lots of fun
Time:01:55

Kristin Stroud great race except that I managed to come down with a cold the night before. flat, scenic, good support.
Time:02:13

chris harvey Great course, not as well organized as other elite racing events. did it with my son, his first. couldnt ask for better first race for him.
Time:03:09

David Schieffer Wow! One of the best courses I've ever run. Part of run is through historic part of city, the rest is run along the river. Very flat, very fast! Of course, Philadelphia is also a great city to visit.
Time:02:44

Dyan Newberry I liked the flat course. I also liked having my picture taken on the steps of the Art Musuem (like Rocky) and in front of Rocky's bronze statue with the race medal. (I hear the theme song!!!)
Time:02:16

2007

Time:01:56

K Hunt Great Race
Time:02:26

Michael Rosenman Scenic and well-organized. Large field.
Time:01:40

David Purol One of the best - a great, flat course, well organized, wonderful weather and a PR. Only shortcoming was single, long food line at postrace.
Time:02:13

Dale Violette Loved this race and Medal!!! Great flat course, taking us thru exciting downtown, no vehicular traffic, for about 4 miles, then out by the zoo and well-shaded run along the river, then back to face the downtown skyscrapers for last mile. Great amenities included 10 bands along the way, lots of water, etc., and a fun finish in front of the "Rocky" steps, Museum of Art. Of 15 races around the country, this one's my fav so far.
Time:02:32

James Matthews Great weather! Lots of shade, very little to no hills, numerous water stops, and great support at the finish line! Elite racing does a wonderful job, and trys to improve every year! AWESOME MEDAL!!!!

2006
Karen Ryan My 1st half marathon. Scenic course, pretty much flat, but pitched roads.
Time:03:18

Jim Gordon Nice run through historic Philadelphia and along the river. Very Idyllic.
Time:02:36

Karen Myers My first year was 2006 and I've been back several times since. GREAT race! GREAT expo!
Time:01:41

Teresa Weidler Pretty course. When my schedule allows, I will come back for this race.
Time:03:25

Michelle Albrecht My husband and I ran this race the day after we got married. We ran it together and it was a great day. The course was crowded but we did not care since we were just married and running together. Support on the course was good.
Time:02:07

Michael Albrecht My wife and I ran this race together the day after we got married. We had matching just married T shirts. We received alot of well wishes.
Time:02:02

Glenn Salka As a NY Giant fan, I should dislike all things Philadelphia, but this is a great fun race. After a 4-mile loop through downtown, run along the river for the remainder which makes for a pretty and enjoyable run.
Time:02:24

Alice McGinley Great race, used it during my training for a marathon. Course was the same, but feel was a little different when Elite took over. Less homey? I think that is it.
Time:02:44

jeremy zamorski This was my second year and I love this race. I felt miserable during the race, as I had just recovered from a week long cold the week before, but you still can't beat running Philly.
Time:02:29

Gayle Rockey The run itself was incredible! The sights we got to see along the way. I saw more of Philly then I thought possible. Disappointing though was the fact that this race wasnt particularly walk-runner friendly. They started tearing down water stations once the middle-of-the-packers went through; VERY discouraging! And I wont even go into the lack of post-race food and drinks OR getting people to/from the start/finish lines. The course was beautiful but everything else could use A LOT of work.
Time:02:35

Joseph Priorielli Very good race. It was beautiful running and looking over the river to see boat house row on the other side. Great post race party.
Time:01:54

Tatiana Ignatenko I liked this race; you can see different Philly areas, historic Liberty Hall, parks, river. Start and finish were near Art Museum. Some people complained on not enough water stops, but it was OK with me.
Time:02:19

Scott Winget I had a great time. The support was fantastic and the music great. Good weather too.
Time:01:55

Jody Dixon I loved this race. Gorgeous course along the river. Lots of shade.
Time:02:35

Vicki Murphy-Kendall Wonderful, easy, falt, well organized.
Time:02:06

Ivy Kusler Flat, beautiful course. Well organized and in a great city.
Time:01:53

Kathy Sirois I loved this race. The park was beautiful. It was hot in 2006, but not brutal. Too bad the pretzels at the end were soggy. Have already signed up for next year
Time:02:00

Patrick Cameron Very nice race course. Along the river and back was just fantastic. The weather was very hot and humit.
Time:03:26

mike ligett An excellent race! Large...over 11k runners, but very well organized, based on many years of running this top quality 1/2 marathon. A flat course, starting in the city, then heading out along the river...lots of shade along the river on the way back to town. Good support with 16 bands and lots of pep squads and cheerleaders. AND...they have a great Liberty Bell medal for all finishers! Highly recommended race.
Time:01:45

John Hebert One of my slowest half marathons of all time. Just did not deal with the 90% humidity, 70's temps and bright sun very well. After awhile just relaxed and enjoyed one of the better and easier courses you will ever run. Not quite up to R&R standards with the bands etc but cool medal of the Liberty Bell.
Time:02:20

MAGGIE MOUNT I ran this race in 2006 and the organization, course, expo, city, and hotel were great. I want to do this one again and allow myself extra days to tour the city.
Time:02:11

Sheila Avsec Well organized, with LOTS of water stops! The volunteers, spectators, cheerleaders and bands (especially those guys playing the Blues down by mile 8) were great.
Time:02:17

2005
Glenn Salka This is a fun race. Run thru downtown, then double back and run both sides of the river.
Time:02:31

jeremy zamorski This was the first year I ran the race, and had a great time. The last few miles back along the river and boathouse row are great! The support staff and volunteers are amazing! So is running down the middle of the street in downtown Philly!
Time:02:12

Liz Vroman Very fun... nice course
Time:02:40

Pat Vroman-Stuart Very pretty setting and run. Well organized.
Time:03:04

Alice McGinley I ran this in both 2005 (better time so I am posting that) and 2006. it is now run by Elite Racing, who I adore, but who scaled back the amenities. Late runners in 2006 did not get Gatorade, and there was a Gu stop in 2005 that was missing in 2006. Medal is awesome, race is well organized, but it is feeling more corporate that Elite has taken over. Beautiful, amazing course though--was my "virginal" half-marathon experience, so it will always be special to me!
Time:02:32

Jennifer Gessner I happened to be in town on business and decided to stay the weekend for the race. This was a notably beautiful course. I especially enjoyed running along the river and watching the rowing crews out at practice. The weather was perfect this year and running downtown was great for sightseeing.
Time:02:19

Jennifer Gaffney I ran this race this year (05).  It was my first 1/2 marathon.  I had a great time and was able to run the whole way.  The course was pretty, but they should use only paper cups next year...no plastic.

Time:02:32

Sharon Miner (9/18/05)This is a great course, especially if you haven't traveled to Philly and haven't yet seen some of the historic sites. The loop around the river is scenic which is especially nice since there are few to no spectators along the way to cheer you on. The course is flat and the medal was real cool shaped like the Liberty Bell.
Time:02:29

Ann Felt Great race. The weather was a little warmer than I would have liked but the course was nice and easy access from hotel.
Time:02:03

Craig Bersak 2003 - Walked with some friends from Philly's racewalking club.

Time:02:44

Ira Gardner I did this race in 2003 (9/21/03) on a warm day in the mid 70s but it was a very scenic course as it looped around the Schuylkill River. You should check out the Constitution Center & a Phillies game when you do this race.
Time:02:02
